Known for its mountain tourism, chocolates and cheeses, Switzerland is much more than the country of watches
We go to the Swiss Alps to show you a piece of this wonderful country, that you probably already heard of or maybe will have had the pleasure of visiting in person. The country of watches!
With a population of approximately eight million inhabitants, Switzerland is one of the world's richest countries. It bordered by Germany, France, Italy, Austria and Liechtenstein, and has no less than four official languages: German, French, Italian and Romansch. Its national holiday is the first day of August which is the date of its creation as a state. In short, it is one of Europe's most culturally diverse countries and is internationally recognized for its mountain tourism, chocolates and cheeses, their knives, their banks and railways and above all ... for its watches.
Switzerland can be divided geographically, from north to south, in three areas: the mountains of Jura, the Swiss Plateau and the Swiss Alps (occupying sixty percent of the land area). In the poster of the collection Swatch Grüezi All you can see part of this geography behind the watch: large plateaus and snowy peaks are merged into this vast mountainous region.
As for culture, as well as being clearly influenced by neighboring countries, it has some differences depending on the area. In areas of high mountain skiing in winter and hiking in summer practice. Folk and traditional culture also has its place and music for example, with alpenhorn or alphorn, has become a known international symbol. This tube or alphorn is also seen in the poster collection Swatch Grüezi All at the left of the image.
Its fauna is concentrated in the mountain areas and has animals such as: wolves, marmots, deer, grizzly bears, foxes, eagles and vultures and of course, the Alpine goat can be seen in the center of the poster skydiving.
Finally, its gastronomy has likewise a variety of delicious dishes thanks to the culinary culture of their neighboring countries. Swiss chocolate has a high reputation due to, among other things, that in 1875 they invented milk chocolate. And thanks to its wide variety of dairy products, fondue or raclette is undoubtedly one of the most cooked dishes across the country. Leaving the alphorn and crowned by a mountaineer in the background you can see the sign some pieces of Gruyère or Emmental cheese, plus some typical local cows.
And here ends our tour by the country of watches, only remains to add that if you want to carry around a piece of this great country, you can now do so, thanks to the collection of Swatch Grüezi All watches.
